Most cost guides quote national averages from unknown sources. This one is different: every number below comes from price lists that installers publish themselves, collected for the GetMediaWall catalog in 2026. We looked at 987 real companies; 175 of them post prices on their own websites, and 147 publish a starting price for standard TV wall mounting.
A few ground rules for reading the data:
- These are "starting at" prices set by each company. Your final quote depends on TV size, wall type, mount and how the cables are handled.
- Mount hardware is usually not included in the base labor price unless the company says so.
- Sample sizes for some add-ons are small, so treat them as a reality check rather than a guarantee.
The headline number: ~$99 to start
Across the 147 companies that publish a base TV mounting price, the lowest listed price for a standard install looks like this:
| Measure | Starting price |
|---|---|
| Lowest published | $20 |
| 25% of companies charge less than | $69 |
| Median | $99 |
| 25% of companies charge more than | $135 |
| Highest base price | $325 |
So a typical local installer advertises standard mounting at roughly $70 to $135, with $99 as the midpoint. Use our TV mounting cost calculator to build an estimate for your own setup.
Bigger TVs cost more
Many installers price by screen size. Comparing size-specific labels:
| Price tier | Companies/labels | Median starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Small and mid TVs (up to ~55-60") | 48 | $122 |
| Large TVs (70" and up) | 70 | $175 |
Large screens often need two installers, heavier mounts and more careful stud work, which explains the jump of roughly $50 or more.

What the common add-ons cost
| Add-on | Published prices | Median |
|---|---|---|
| In-wall or on-wall cable concealment | 65 | $99 |
| Soundbar mounting | 33 | $69 |
| Mounting over a fireplace | 24 | $189 |
| Samsung Frame / art-style TV install | 10 | $220 |
| Brick, stone, tile or concrete wall (often an add-on) | 13 | $89 |
| TV dismount or relocation | 6 | $49 |
| Hourly labor (where hourly rates are posted) | 11 | $125/hour |

Two things stand out:
- Wire concealment roughly doubles a basic install. If you want no visible cords, budget around $100 extra per TV, more for long runs or firestops.
- Fireplaces and Frame TVs are the premium jobs. Masonry drilling, heat considerations and the Frame's One Connect box routing push these to $190-$220 and up.
Prices by state
Only some states have enough companies with public prices to compare. Median base mounting price where at least four companies publish one:
| State | Companies with prices | Median starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Florida | 32 | $77 |
| New York | 16 | $100 |
| Texas | 14 | $99 |
| California | 11 | $89 |
| North Carolina | 9 | $70 |
| Illinois | 7 | $125 |
| Virginia | 5 | $89 |
| Washington | 4 | $67 |
| Tennessee | 4 | $130 |
| Colorado | 4 | $192 |
| Kentucky | 4 | $190 |
Florida's competitive TV-mounting market shows up clearly in the data. The higher medians in Colorado and Kentucky rest on only four companies each, so treat them as indicative. Always compare what's included, not just the number.

How to compare quotes
- Ask what the base price includes. Mount, cord cover, TV setup and cleanup vary a lot from company to company.
- Mention your wall type. Brick, stone, plaster and metal studs often add a fee.
- Count every device. Soundbars, streaming boxes and game consoles are often priced separately.
- Check insurance and warranty. See our breakdown of what installers actually promise on warranties.
